About the Role:

Reporting to the President the VP of Finance will manage the Finance, Accounting and IT teams.  The VP Finance will oversee the financial strategy and the overall financial health of the organization. Their Finance team, which includes Purchasing, AR, AP, as well as a team of analysts will ensure that the company business objectives are met in the short and long term.  They will be responsible for working collaboratively with other departments and customers to ensure Clarion’s success. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Oversee financial budgeting, forecasting, compliance, month-end reporting, and analysis to support the company’s growth and profitability.
  • Work with various departments to understand their needs, opportunities, and risks to roll out various collaborative plans and programs.
  • Review and recommend changes to various agreements, including distribution agreements, RFPs, and business program contracts.
  • Work with the Director of Finance, managing the annual budget process and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Work with the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports are produced in accordance with IFRS.
  • Work with the IT team, including fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safeguarding IT systems and software while servicing internal customers.
  • Create and make recommendations for new and improved policies, controls, and processes.
  • Ensure appropriate management reporting and analysis is provided to departments, including tracking and modifying metrics and KPIs.
  • Lead financial due diligence on potential acquisitions, provide recommendations on acquisitions, and lead the financial and IT integration of acquisitions.
  • Ensure appropriate working capital levels.
  • Coach, mentor, train, support, and conduct performance reviews of staff.

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:

  • CPA designation with a university degree.
  • Has a minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with a minimum of 10 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience working with senior executives, sales, marketing, operations, and customer service in a business support capacity.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams at various levels within the organization and with customers.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud computing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, outgoing, energetic, and a positive attitude.
  • Experience working in a small to mid-size organization.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Work experience within the medical industry is desirable.
